Mollie, 5 months

Mollie Lynn you are 5 months old!

What are you up to these days?

You are still wearing size 2 diapers, and 3-6 or 6 month clothes.
You need the length of the 6 month pants, but they end up being really big in the waist and hips.
You are long and lean...not too many rolls on my baby girl!

You sleep from 7:30 or 8 pm to 6 or 6:30am. I think that you are going to be my early riser. You wake up SO happy and hungry! You eat, and then play for about 2 hours before going down for your morning nap. You sleep for about an hour, and wake up around 9 or 9:30. The next 2 hours or so are usually busy with running errands, grocery shopping, play dates, adventures or trips to the park. Both you and Matthew usually nap from about 12-3, but lately have been only napping for about 2 hours. You take another nap for about an hour in the evening before you are sacked and ready for bed.

You are the sweetest, most smiley baby! I didn't think that you could be more smiley then your brother, but you have proved me wrong time and time again. You LOVE for someone to sit and talk to you. You will smile and coo ALL day long. Your entire face lights up when you smile.

You are such a noisy baby. You squeal and scream in delight. You say "Aaaahhhh". You belly laugh whenever you are tickled.

Don't be fooled, as happy as you are, you certainly have your fussy moments too!

You LOVE bath time. Your favorite thing to do in the bath is to suck on a washcloth.

We took you swimming for the first time. You loved floating in the inner tube, mesmerized by all stimulation around you!

I think that you are teething, although I don't see any tooth buds yet. You constantly have your hands in your mouth and are drooling all.the.time.

You love to play with toys, and put everything in your mouth. Your favorite toy right now is Sophie the Giraffe. Yup, a good old hand-me-down from Matthew. It was a loved little toy by your big brother and now you get to suck on it and drool all over it!

You are starting to roll over a lot more now!

You still nurse about every 3-4 hours during the day. I noticed that my milk supply decreases in the evening, and you seem extra hungry during that time, so before bed I nurse you and then give you a bottle of formula as well.

You are very interested in food and what we are eating.

We started you on solid foods at about 4.5 months. Your first food was avocado! You take solids once a day for now, but some days you aren't very interested in it. So far you eat avocados, rice cereal, sweet potatoes and bananas. Matthew likes to help feed you. I am making all of your baby food.

You like the Moby wrap or Baby bjorn, and love for someone to hold and cuddle you, especially when you are tired or a bit fussy.

Molly, you absolutely love your big brother. You are enamored by him, and always give him big smiles, watching him when he plays and completely delighted when he talks or plays with you.

You jump like crazy in your Jumperoo. Matthew will come over and stand in front of your Jumperoo and say "jump", and then he jumps in the air. You belly laugh anytime he does this! (sorry, that was a lot of jumps)
We have had beautiful weather lately, so you have spent lots of time in the swing. You look like such a big girl!

We also spent a morning walking around Greenlake with Alyssa and your BFF Autumn :)

You blow zerberts.
You sat in your Bumbo for the first time.

You are constantly grabbing at our faces or pulling my hair.

I went back to work on in mid-September. Mollie, I feel so blessed to have been able to spend almost 5 months at home, loving on you, getting to know you, and adjusting our family of 3 to a family of 4. I only work 7 shifts per month, so I get spend most of my days being a full time mommy! My mom, who I am forever grateful for, is blessing our family by watching Matthew and Mollie every Friday so that I can work. She loves time with her babies, and her grand babies adore time with her! I work most Friday day shifts, and then I also work 3-4 night shifts during the month at some point. Daddy has become a pro at putting 2 kiddos to bed by himself, and looks forward to the few nights a month with just his babies. The day after I work a night shift, my Dad and Bami tag team, working out their days to let me get a little sleep in when I come home from work. I feel SO blessed to have an amazing support system and family who loves my kids and are always willing to help.

Mollie Lynn, you are so precious and a blessing to our family!
