Mollie 1 year

Mollie Lynn you are ONE year old!

It feels like yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, and overnight I blink and we are celebrating your first birthday. How quickly time flies! You are my princess, my daughter, my baby girl, my sweet sissy. You are sassy, cuddly, slightly dramatic, adorable and kissable. It's hard for me to even put into words how much we love and treasure you. God couldn't have given us a more perfect daughter. You are easy going (most of the time), adaptable and content. I look forward to my days spent just being your Mommy. There's no place in the world I'd rather be, or no thing I'd rather be doing (okay, maybe there are a few things....point aside, I LOVE being your Mommy)! Happy Birthday Sissy girl!

What have you been up to these days?

Weight: 20.9 pounds (48th percentile)

Head circumference: (95th percentile)

Height: (95th percentile)

You are a total Stevens baby...long, lean, and a big head! You still have big, blue beautiful eyes. Everyone comments on how gorgeous your eyes are. Your hair is still very short, but it is coming!! Mommy likes to put headbands on you, but they never last for long. I dream of ponytails, braids and bows!

You got 3 shots at your 12 month check up. You screamed when the nurse gave them to you, but after a sticker and a few licks of a sucker, you were a happy little girl again.

You still sleep for about 12 hours at night, and you take a 3 hour nap each afternoon. If we are just at home, you will sometimes take a short morning or evening nap. It is so easy to tell when you are tired!

You are a great eater! There are foods that you obviously prefer more then others, but you will eat just about anything. At 11.5 months, I started to mix your bottles with half formula and half milk. You are now exclusively on whole milk. You still take your milk out of a bottle. You like when it's warm, but will drink it cold as well. You drink water from sippy cups, and you like to drink from a real cup with help. You also love drinking from a straw.

You sit in your knees all.the.time.

You wear size 12-18 month clothes and size 3 diapers. You hate to get your clothes and diaper changed and your face washed. Most of the time you can be distracted with a toy, bottle or boo-boo, but you can sure be dramatic during the process. Lord help us when you are a teenager!

You still only have 2 bottom teeth.

You have been such a Daddy's girl lately. He has been very busy with baseball season in full swing, but anytime he is around, you are always wanting him to hold you and play with you. You love to wear his hats, scratch his beard, and give him hugs.

You love your brother. You want to be doing whatever he is doing. You prefer to play with his toys, and because of that we've put away a lot of your baby toys. When Matthew goes outside without you, you will sit at the door, almost begging to follow.

Your favorite word is "hi". You can also say ma-am, da-da and nana, and uh-oh. You have such a quiet and sweet voice. That's not so true about your cry or scream! You can sign "all done" and "eat". Your favorite time to sign "all done" is when we are changing your diaper!

You know what a airplane, doggie, duck and cow say.

You dont like to be told 'no'. You are quite the determined little girl, and when you want something you will be sure to let us know how badly you want it or that you are unhappy we took it away. This will be a great quality I hope you posses later in life, but good grief it can be a little exhausting to listen to when you are one. Again, we thankfully can distract you pretty easy. Lately you are all about keys, cell phones, and remotes. You like to 'talk' on the phone, and say 'hi' in the sweetest voice!

You like to have someone whisper sweet nothing's in your ear.

You love slides, and have learned how to climb up and go down our outdoor play slide. Again, you are growing up too fast!

You love to climb on the couch and look out the window.

You know where your head is, but will only point to it some of the time when we ask you to show us.

You fold your hands when we tell you that it's time to pray.

Your favorite songs are 'Happy and you know it', 'Patty cake', and 'Itsy Bitsy Spider'.

You take up to 6-10 steps at a time. You've been doing this for quite awhile. I have no doubt that you could be walking full time if you really wanted to. Right now, you still prefer to crawl or walk along furniture.

You love faces and noses. We are having to teach you how to be gentle!

You love to read books and turn the pages by yourself. You love to be read to, but will sit on the floor and take out all the books from the basket and look at them yourself.

You lay your head down on us if we ask you too. It's precious!

We moved into our new house the beginning of April. Both you and Matthew have transitioned great. You now share a room with your brother. I was very nervous about this and how your sleeping habits might change, but all my fears were put to ease. You two love sleeping in the same room, and thankfully you both are on the same schedule and sleep just as well together as you did seperately. Our bedtime routine includes snuggles, tickling, giggling and singing on the extra bed in your room with brother, Mommy and Daddy. We pray, and then put you two in your cribs. The first night you both started to cry as we shut the door. A few minutes later, we were listening to the monitor and we heard Matthew say "Sissy!" Immediately you both stopped crying, as you two realized you were actually together! You both giggled, made silly noises, and jumped around in your cribs for about five minutes before falling asleep. The rest is history!

Happy first birthday sweet baby girl!

We love you more then you will ever know and are a perfect gift that we celebrate and thank God for daily!

Matthew 25 & 26 months

Matthew Jay 25 & 26 months!

What have you been up to these days?

Matthew Jay, you are growing up right in front of my eyes! I cannot even express the joy it brings me to have you call me "Mommy". We have had a busy 2 months with lots of life changes! Thankfully both you and Sissy have handled everything way better then I could even imagine.

At the end of February, you were sick for 9 days. Fever, cough, runny nose, whining, whining and more whining, tired eyes, cuddly (my favorite part!). Turns out you had a double ear infection. Once we got you on antibiotics, you were a different kid by the next day! It was a rough couple of months though because both you and Sissy ended up getting 2 more ear infections. My healthy boy, who had never had an ear infection before got hit with 3 in a row. Crossing my fingers we are over being sick!

We got a little dusting of snow!

You are still a picky eater at times. You are the type of kid who will eat just about anything when you are hungry, but won't touch a thing if you aren't hungry. I wish I had that will power! Some of your favorite foods lately are cinnamon toast, crackers with peanut butter, grapes, chips and pudding.

You are so busy. I feel like I literally get you set up with an activity or toy, and I turn around and you are off and onto making a mess of exploring something else. You and Sissy are always getting into some sort of mischief together. In another year or so, I'm in complete trouble with you two! You are the best big brother though, and couldn't imagine a sweeter bro!

You love to be outside. You would spend every minute of every day outside if you could.

Daddy loves teaching you how to "step, THROW!" Daddy is convinced that you will love baseball.

You are gaining so much balance on you Strider bike, and are really starting to like riding it.

You love to give "Yexi' loves. You two are really starting to bond. You like to hold the leash and walk with her.

You think it's funny to put your finger in your nose and say "ewwww!" You learned this while at Grandpa and Gabby's house. I'm blaming all your bad habits on them!

You are learning so much at church. The best part is that each month there are different lessons and verses we can work on at home.

Mommy: Who wants to be your friend? Matthew: Jesus!

Mommy: What does Jesus say? Matthew: I'm always with you!

You are obsessed with the lawn mower (mom-mower) and vacuum (vrumma). You love to mow the lawn with Grandpa. You don't like when the mower or vacuum are first turned on though.

You are quite fascinated with Uncle De these days. You still call Caleb, Ke.

When we get you up from sleeping, you think it's funny to put your foot between the slats in your crib and say "Mommy, foot stuck!"

Your smile? Infectious and contagious!

In the bathtub, you like to lay on your tummy, kick your legs, splash, and say "Mommy, I'm swimming!"

You think it's hilarious to pour wa-wa over Sissy's head when taking a bath. She's not a huge fan of this game sometimes. You both love to giggle and play together in the tub,

Gabby bought you a pair of sunglasses. You put them on and say "dark"!

You love to play on the I-pad. I'm amazed at how much you can do with it. You love to FaceTime with Gabby and Grandpa, Banna, or Adam and Willow.

Daddy has been very busy lately, in full swing of baseball season. We try to go to as many games as we can, and you absolutely love it. You love to spot Daddy out on the baseball field, and love it even more when he lets you run the bases at the end of the game.

The first week of April we officially sold our house and moved into our "new house" as you like to call it. You have transitioned to our new house wonderful. (More details soon!)

Matthew Jay, my sweet little boy, I love you so much. You exhaust me, push me to my limits, keep me on my toes, test my parental abilities, and bring me to my knees daily. You have an infectious smile, a big personality, and a tender and loving spirit that makes every single day I get to spend being your Mommy worth it!

Mollie 11 months

Mollie Lynn you are 11 months old!

What have you been up to these days?

You are a smiley, happy little girl, full of sugar and spice! Speaking of little girl, how did you grow up so fast? It seems like overnight you have grown up from baby, to sweet and sassy little girl! You have the most infectious belly laugh, and big beautiful blue eyes. Let's face it, you have your daddy wrapped around your fingers.

I have started introducing whole milk to you. I mix half formula and half milk in your bottles. I don't think you notice a difference. You are a great eater and will eat just about anything.

You love to sit and read books. You turn the pages and look at all the bright colors and pictures.

When we ask you what a monkey says you say "Ah"!

You are constantly taking off your socks and shoes. I can almost guarantee that when I put you in the car with them on, they will be off when you get out!

You are standing unassisted and will take 1-2 steps at a time. You'll be walking soon!

You L.O.V.E to climb the stairs. If I forget to put the gate up, I'm sure to find you upstairs. You are starting to learn how to go down the stairs backwards.

You love to clap your hands.

You have started to drop food off your highchair. I think it broke daddy's heart as much as yours the first time he had to get stern with his baby girl.

When you drop something, whether intentional or by accident, you say "Uh-Oh!"

You love to climb and crawl all over Daddy when he is laying down n the floor

You love to swing and go down the slide.

You want to tag along side and keep up with your brother. It's like overnight you have decided that you don't like your baby toys whatsoever! All you want to do is play with Matthews toys and do whatever he is doing. I think you're going to be the little girl who loves playing with trucks and blocks! When Matthew goes outside without you, you will sit and sometimes cry at the back door or window, begging to go out with him. It's precious and most of the time I give in!

You are always crawling through your tunnel and love it even more when your bro chases you through it.
It was all giggles when you and Matthew got to play with shaving cream in the bathtub. Love. Love. Love seeing the friendship forming between you two.

You can sign "all done" after you eat. You also know where your head is. Most of the time when I ask you to sign or show me where your head is, you will get a shy smile and not perform.

You were sick for 8 days with a double ear infection. Poor baby girl!

Mollie Lynn, happy 11 months! So hard to believe you are almost 1 year old. We love you sweet thing!
