Mollie Lynn you are 8 months old!
What have you been up to these days?
Your personality shines more and more each day. Your infectious smile absolutely lights up your face. We fall in love with you over and over again each day.
I can hardly believe how quickly you have changed from a baby to a little girl. Where has the time gone?
You are still wearing size 6 or 6-9 month clothes. You can fit into a few 12 month dresses.
You wear size 3 diapers.
You have had a bad diaper rash on and off throughout the month. Poor girl. We are trying different options and it seems to be helping. Can't figure out if it's diet related, teething or just sensitive skin lately.
Sleeping habits are still pretty much the same. You sleep 12 hours at night, a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon and 1 hour nap in the morning and evening. Lots of days it seems like you are skipping your evening nap because we are either busy playing, eating dinner, taking a bath or out and about and before we know it, it is too late to nap!
You were kicking off all your blankets at night, so now we just put you in your PJs and a fleece sleep sack which keeps your nice and toasty during these cold winter nights! We clip one binkie to your sleep sack and put one binkie in your hand when you go to bed. You roll over onto your tummy and put yourself to sleep.
You are SUCH a happy baby and content girl.
You love the church nursery. You don't sleep very well in there because of the noise, but you are usually very happy to sit and play with all your friends. Thankfully, you haven't gone through the separation anxiety phase.
You are mimicking noises. (Mostly "Ah") Matthew is always trying to get you to "talk". He says "Sissy Ah", and you two "Ohhh" and "Ahhh" and giggle back and forth. Adorable.
Just after you turned 7 months old, you totally got the hang of sitting. We can now plunk you down on the ground wherever we need to without worrying about you toppling over! You love to sit on the floor and play with all your toys.
You are so close to crawling. You get up into the crawling position all the time. You rock back and forth and even move your hands forward to crawl, but just havn't figured out quite how to get your arms and legs to work together. You will be on the move any day though!
When you want to get somewhere you will either get up into the crawling position and lunge forward at whatever you are aiming for, or while you are on your tummy you will reach forward with your forearm and push with your legs, inching your self along.
You plank on your hands and toes.
It's so fun to see the differences and similarities between you and your brother when he was this age. Compared to Matthew, you have a MUCH more laid back personality. He hated the nursery. You do great. We don't bundle you. We were still bundling Matthew at this age. You both love your binkie, are great eaters, smile all the time. By 8 months old, Matthew had been sitting up for 2 months, crawling for a month and a half, pulling himself up and into just about anything and everything he shouldn't be. You, on the other hand, just learned how to sit up, are close to starting to crawl, and not even close to pulling up on things. You are taking your sweet time and I'm learning to appreciate a baby who stays put. How fun it is to see how you two are developing!
Sissy you are one loved little angel!
