Matthew 25 & 26 months

Matthew Jay 25 & 26 months!

What have you been up to these days?

Matthew Jay, you are growing up right in front of my eyes! I cannot even express the joy it brings me to have you call me "Mommy". We have had a busy 2 months with lots of life changes! Thankfully both you and Sissy have handled everything way better then I could even imagine.

At the end of February, you were sick for 9 days. Fever, cough, runny nose, whining, whining and more whining, tired eyes, cuddly (my favorite part!). Turns out you had a double ear infection. Once we got you on antibiotics, you were a different kid by the next day! It was a rough couple of months though because both you and Sissy ended up getting 2 more ear infections. My healthy boy, who had never had an ear infection before got hit with 3 in a row. Crossing my fingers we are over being sick!

We got a little dusting of snow!

You are still a picky eater at times. You are the type of kid who will eat just about anything when you are hungry, but won't touch a thing if you aren't hungry. I wish I had that will power! Some of your favorite foods lately are cinnamon toast, crackers with peanut butter, grapes, chips and pudding.

You are so busy. I feel like I literally get you set up with an activity or toy, and I turn around and you are off and onto making a mess of exploring something else. You and Sissy are always getting into some sort of mischief together. In another year or so, I'm in complete trouble with you two! You are the best big brother though, and couldn't imagine a sweeter bro!

You love to be outside. You would spend every minute of every day outside if you could.

Daddy loves teaching you how to "step, THROW!" Daddy is convinced that you will love baseball.

You are gaining so much balance on you Strider bike, and are really starting to like riding it.

You love to give "Yexi' loves. You two are really starting to bond. You like to hold the leash and walk with her.

You think it's funny to put your finger in your nose and say "ewwww!" You learned this while at Grandpa and Gabby's house. I'm blaming all your bad habits on them!

You are learning so much at church. The best part is that each month there are different lessons and verses we can work on at home.

Mommy: Who wants to be your friend? Matthew: Jesus!

Mommy: What does Jesus say? Matthew: I'm always with you!

You are obsessed with the lawn mower (mom-mower) and vacuum (vrumma). You love to mow the lawn with Grandpa. You don't like when the mower or vacuum are first turned on though.

You are quite fascinated with Uncle De these days. You still call Caleb, Ke.

When we get you up from sleeping, you think it's funny to put your foot between the slats in your crib and say "Mommy, foot stuck!"

Your smile? Infectious and contagious!

In the bathtub, you like to lay on your tummy, kick your legs, splash, and say "Mommy, I'm swimming!"

You think it's hilarious to pour wa-wa over Sissy's head when taking a bath. She's not a huge fan of this game sometimes. You both love to giggle and play together in the tub,

Gabby bought you a pair of sunglasses. You put them on and say "dark"!

You love to play on the I-pad. I'm amazed at how much you can do with it. You love to FaceTime with Gabby and Grandpa, Banna, or Adam and Willow.

Daddy has been very busy lately, in full swing of baseball season. We try to go to as many games as we can, and you absolutely love it. You love to spot Daddy out on the baseball field, and love it even more when he lets you run the bases at the end of the game.

The first week of April we officially sold our house and moved into our "new house" as you like to call it. You have transitioned to our new house wonderful. (More details soon!)

Matthew Jay, my sweet little boy, I love you so much. You exhaust me, push me to my limits, keep me on my toes, test my parental abilities, and bring me to my knees daily. You have an infectious smile, a big personality, and a tender and loving spirit that makes every single day I get to spend being your Mommy worth it!
