One Month

Matthew Jr. you are ONE month old!

Where does the time go??? It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home a newborn from the hospital, and overnight you have changed so much!!

What are you up to these days???

You weigh 11 pounds (95th percentile!)...you are becoming such a chunk!

You are about 22 inches long (75th percentile)

Your head is 15.5 inches (95th percentile!)

You are wearing size 1 diapers

You are wearing 0-3 month clothes, but can also fit into almost all of your 3-6 months clothes!!

You are an awesome nurser! You nurse every 3-4 hours during the day

Sleep is getting much better. You wake up every 3-4 hours at night, nurse, and then go right back to sleep...or mommy falls asleep while you are nursing, and who knows how much later I wake up and put you back to bed!

Ever since you came home you have kept yourself on a great pattern of eat, then wake, and then sleep.

When you first came home, you would nurse, stay awake for 15-30 minutes, and then go back to sleep. Now you are stretching your awake time to 1-2 hours!

You hate your carseat and the car....we're working on it though

You are a strong boy! You have held your head up pretty much since birth. You push up and stand with your legs when you are mad!

You love your bouncy seat. We just got a new swing that you really seem to like too!

You have the most beautiful blue/grey eyes, and when you are happy, you love to lay on your activity mat and stare at yourself in the mirror.

You also love to stare at lights, and track movement with your eyes really well!

You love, love, LOVE to be swaddled when you sleep or are tired.

You hated your first bath, but now you love them! Mommy gives you a bath every morning (...or afternoon by the time we get moving! ha), and then you lay on the floor and look at the lights while mommy takes her shower

You had your first shower this week and loved to have the water run over your head!

You love your paci...except when you are hungry, because it's just a tease to you!

We're sure you're going to take after your daddy and be a baseball player!

Your daddy calls you "bubbers" or "bubs"

You love to lay on your daddy's chest and fall asleep...so sweet to watch!

Your chin quivers!

You have croocked pinky fingers just like your mommy, Grammy Sandy, and Uncle Adam!

You make alot of noises...

You are tongue tied...we are going to the Dr. next week to have it fixed!

No smiles yet, but you are so expressive with your eyes, nose, & mouth. It seems like you are going to smile any day!

Although you like to cry and fuss, for the most part you are a very happy baby!

We are SO IN LOVE with you Matthew Jay!!!!

Welcome to my Blog

I never thought I would be sitting here writing my first blog post. I always told myself, my husband, and my friends that I would never start a blog...and look at me now!

Since this blog is going to serve as a place for me to document our families day to day life, I'll guess I should start from the beginning and introduce you to my beautiful family!

My name is Cammie. I'm 24 years old. I'm a mommy of an adorable newborn. [I know, I know...everyone thinks their baby is cute...I still think we did pretty good though...! ] I work as a Registered Nurse...I'm on maternity leave for 5 months! I absolutely love being a nurse, but I think going back to work is going to be the hardest thing besides labor I will have to do . I'm only going to be working 2 nights a week when I go back to work, so technically I get to add part time stay at home mom to my list! I love Jesus, and serving in my church. I stalk alot of people through blogs that I don't know, and constantly find inspiration! I love thrifty home decor, watching HGTV & TLC. I don't think I'm a very eloquent writer, so this blog will challenge me. I finally fit into my first pair of pre-pregnancy jeans last week...but I couldn't button them, so I just wore my belly band! I love Diet Dr. Pepper and anything sweet. I like to think I'm a pretty good cook. I like to bake, but finally put my Kitchen Aid mixer in the closet last month because I think I had only used it 2 times, and it was taking up alot of counter space. To this day, my husband doesn't understand why we needed a Kitchen Aid mixer for a wedding present..I keep telling him it's every good wife's prerogative. My favorite movie is "How to lose a guy in 10 days" [I know sappy RomCom, but I'm a sucker for them!]. My husband refuses to watch it with me because it frustrates him when I quote the whole movie! Of course with a new baby comes a new camera, so I'm developing a love for photography, and just might delve into the world of couponing!

My husband, Matt, and I got married on December 29th 2007. Matt and I are high school sweethearts...we started dating when we were 16! Matt is the love of my life, my partner and best friend. A faithful man of God and spiritual leader in my life. He teaches high school History at a private Christian School. Avid sports fan, and baseball lover. He used to play baseball at the University of Washington, and now gets to do what he loves, by coaching at the high school. He's passionate, funny, and always makes he laugh. God has blessed me beyond measure!

Matt and I are so blessed to be surrounded and loved by our family and friends. My parents [Grammy and Grandpa], are such a blessing in our lives. We are so fortunate to have them live about 5 minutes away, so visits are very frequent [especially these days!]. My mom is one of the sweetest people that I know, one of my very best friends, and CANNOT get enough of her first grandson! My dad has such a tender heart, loves being a Grandpa, and is such a godly example to Matt and I. I also have a brother and sister-in-law who live in Colorado...we miss them very much and can't wait for them to meet their newest nephew!

It's funny because family dinners with my side of the family are small and quiet. Needless to say with 6 brothers and sisters, spouses, 9 neices and nephews and one of the way, it's not the same with Matt's family. I absolutely love the contrast between our two families! Matt's parents [Grandma and Papa] live about 20 minutes away from us. Matt's dad is the Pastor of our church and such a blessing and source of spiritual guidance in our lives. Matt's mom is one of the most caring people I know...her grandkids are so blessed to have a Grandma like her! Matt has 2 brothers, 1 sister and their families who live nearby. He has 1 brother and 1 sister and their families that live out of state and we miss dearly! I am so lucky to say that my best friends are my family!

This would be the point where I would introduce you to our newest addition, but I would be neglectful if I didn't introduce our very first baby, Lexi. Lexi is a 5 year old miniture cockapoo. Lexi loves long walks, belly rubs, Chicken treats, playing with her kitty [no joke, it's a life size stuffed animal cat, and is the ONLY toy she will wrestle and play with...needless to say, we don't buy her toys anymore...], and giving kisses, loves the phrase "wanna go bye-byes?" and knows exactly what the sound of keys means. Although life has changed for Lexi a bit lately, she is defiantly taking it in stride. She spends alot of time sitting on the back of the couch observing this new little addition to our family. I don't think she's quite fond of him yet, but I know that someday they will be best of buds.

On Febuary 19th 2011, we welcomed our first child into this world. What an amazing experience it was! [I'll share his birth story later]. We are absolutely in LOVE with little Matthew Jr. and soaking up every minute we get to spend with him. I can't believe how much he has changed even in the short 4 weeks he's been a part of our lives!

I started this blog so that I can document the day to day happenings of our lives, and to keep our loved ones up to date on Matthew Jr. the Stevens' family happenings!
